Time for a Face Fix!

I am always interested in trying new, homemade, DIY hair and skin treatments! I came across a similar facial treatment to this but, decided to make a few tweaks and added my own personal touch!

The original facial I found on Pinterest asked for more yogurt and sunflower oil instead of coconut oil. I prefer the scent and feel of the coconut oil on my skin and it does the trick just as well!

Ready for ravishing, glowing skin?! Alright!

I know it might seem funny putting yogurt on your skin, and even a little funky mixing it with lemon but, the lemon contains Vitamin C, which adds a natural glow to your skin, helps prevent dark spots, and improves your overall complexion! As for the yogurt, the lactic acid it contains is known as the most common Alpha Hydroxy Acid. These AHA’s are great for your skin. If you add them into your weekly routine, it will help with aging, smoothing, and wrinkling of your skin! The coconut oil is my favorite! The Lauric Acid in coconut oil kills bacteria, even the kind that causes all of our yucky breakouts! Not to mention, it’s super hydrating which is perfect for the dry season we’re approaching!

Let’s go have a facial party!

1/2 Cup Plain Yogurt

1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil

1 Freshly Squeezed Lemon

Mix all the ingredients together and apply.

Leave on for about 15 minutes and rinse with warm water. Pat dry and your all set! If you find your mixture is too runny to apply, add a little more yogurt to thicken it up!

I also found this awesome jar at Hobby Lobby for $1.50 on sale! Yay! How perfect will this look on my bathroom counter once I reuse and recycle it for my hand scrub (coming to the blog later this week!)? ๐Ÿ™‚

After rinsing our lemony, coco-nutty, delicious facials, hubby and I had amazingly smooth, smell good skin!

If you have left overs like I did, you can always use the rest as a hair mask to bring out the natural light tones in your hair for a sun kissed look! Lemon is great for giving us natural highlights!

Thanks for checking out this awesome DIY!

Stay tuned later this week for more ways to use coconut oil!
