Thank you to Reunion Resort for hosting our family. All opinions are my own.
We kicked off Summer last weekend with all the water play that a tribe of kids could imagine, at Reunion Resort in Kissimmee!
With Reunion’s FIVE ACRE water park, our weekend was totally dedicated to SWOOSHING down all of the slides as fast as humanly possible and as much lazy river floating as our fully relaxed selves could endure!
Why Reunion?
- Close proximity to Disney World (see the fireworks from the rooftop dining at Eleven)
- Tons of amenities (water park, golfing, tennis, dining…)
- Villa Rentals & Room Size (FULL kitchen included) ROOM TOUR POST HERE!
- Great Deals & often Kids Eat FREE
- Perfect for large families or longer stays
As a mom who’s relaxation time is usually unheard of, the lazy river was undoubtedly my absolute favorite (aside from the tiki bar)! With a rockin slide that zips through huge rocks and a waterfall which releases into the lazy river, MY.WEEKEND.WAS.MADE! With each go around the winding pool, the boys hopped out of the lazy river to where they dubbed the “secret entrance” and climbed up to the top of the slide. In all certainty, every single time they’d ride, they would reach the pool right as I made it around to where the slide let out into the lazy river! GOALS. It was PERFECT.
With zero entry access to the kid zone water play area, even Linc could get down on some serious splash time! The big boys enjoyed both the partially covered and fully enclosed water slides and ALL of the soaker guns. It was no shock that they took every chance they could to squirt other kids and adults below the play area!
The HUGE bucket above the play space re-fills and unloads on the entire water playground every 7-10 minutes, leaving all of the littles soaked (the screams that came each time the bucket overturned were hysterical)!
BIG.HUGE.DUMPING.BUCKET. ^
As you can imagine, we spent most of our time in the kids zone but, when we finally pulled the boys away from their own slice of paradise, we spent our time playing jumbo chess and water balloons with other kids on the lawn where Reunion staff hosts an array of awesome games and activities (corn hole, Mega Jenga, crafts, horseshoes, and even Sno Cones & ice cream)! We also totally took advantage of the poolside dining at the tiki bar (with amazing wooden swings that I wish we had at home) and lounged in our personal cabana (nap time LIFE saver)!

I could seriously go on about the amazing time we had at the water park but, there is SO much more to Reunion than water play! It’s probably no surprise to any of our friends who have followed along for some time that we LOVE eating all the amazing things on our trips and Reunion TOTALLY jumped to the top of our list as a Top 5 foodie spot for our fam jam!
During our stay we dined at The Clubhouse for our continental style buffet breakfast, where kids eat free and the views of the golf course get you itching to get out on the green! The boys enjoyed breakfast favorites like eggs, bacon, sausage, fruits, and french toast while we dove into our usual favorite-Salmon and Lox with breakfast potatoes. Breakfast here was quick and easy during our trip! We were able to sit immediately and fill our bellies to prep us for the day!
Lunch is always a big deal for us while were traveling! We try to make sure that we have a big mid-day meal right before naps to refuel for the rest of our adventure! Lunch at Traditions restaurant was fantastic! With the open kitchen and unparalleled golf course views, we almost stayed to lounge here all day! The service was above par (catch my pun?!) and the food was spectacular! Nothing gets parents nearly as hyped as fast service when they have hungry kids in tow! The boys had their typical grilled cheese but, James and I had some pretty awesome adult entree’s from the menu!
James chose Braised Short Ribs while I indulged in a super fresh Tuna Poke Bowl!
Linc had a special surprise waiting for him at Traditions where the entire staff decorated our table and had a special cake make JUST for him to celebrated the big number 2! How freaking sweet, right?! He had THE BEST day!
After lunch, the boys were welcomed to explore one of the golf carts and take a quick ride! Like, I said- Linc had the best day…clearly!
Dinner on our last night was like a dream! We ate at Eleven- the fine dining restaurant at the very top of the hotel. Being only a few miles from Disney World, we were able to see the fireworks from Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Magic Kingdom AT our table while we enjoyed our meal. Talk about goosebumps! We had a 7:45 dinner reservation on a Saturday and sat by the huge windows, which gave us a perfect view!
We shared Col’s favorite as a starter: Cornmeal Dusted Calamari (which he totally ended up placing in front of himself and ate as his dinner)! The chef was incredibly sweet and greeted us with a special King Crab Salad right as we sat down which, we followed with a super delicious Caramelized Onion Soup! For dinner, James couldn’t pass up the Bone-In Prime Rib with the Truffle Balsamic Glaze enhancement (literally the best sauce I have EVER, I seriously mean, EVER- tasted) and I had the Joyce Farms Roasted Chicken.
I LOVE when fine dining restaurants have portions that are actually fit for the American diet but, also not overwhelming for the price point! Eleven hit the spot for all of our foodie cravings! As a creamed spinach snob, I totally splurged and added a side for us to share and it was by far, the best creamed spinach we’ve ever had! yummmm
On our first day, within only hours of our visit, I told James how awesome it was to have such an amazing vacation as a family, so close to home for us! Reunion makes it easy to enjoy all the things about a family trip with ease!
